Thanks for being my friend.

I’m in the process of making some greeting card designs.

Sometimes I take finished pieces and add words to them, but for this one I had a plan to create a card design from the beginning, though all the details needed to be discovered along the way.

I decided to turn the camera on and I’m so glad I did. Sometimes the pressure of the camera leads to rushed and sloppy work (for me) but this time it was just the right “eyeballs” I needed to complete the image start to finish.

I have a few details to work on, but I’m very happy with the result!

The materials I used for this were:

  • Watercolor (mainly Daniel Smith, some Holbein and Winsor & Newton)

  • Inktense Pensils in Sepia, Leaf Green, Oak

  • Neocolor IIs

  • Derwent Drawing Pencil in chocolate
